All-Time NFL Draft Steals
All-Time NFL Draft Steals

#20 – Tedy Bruschi, New England Patriots (Arizona)
1996: Third round, Pick 86

Bruschi likely slipped in the draft because teams weren’t sure if he could make the transition from college defensive end to professional linebacker. Obviously, he did just fine. He’s been to one Pro Bowl, and he has been the centerpiece for the Patriots defense during their run that included three Super Bowl victories and a perfect regular season in 2007. Among the linebackers taken ahead of Bruschi: Kevin Hardy (Illinois, 2nd overall to the Jaguars) and Patrick Sapp (Clemson, 50th overall to the Chargers).
