All-Time NFL Draft Steals
All-Time NFL Draft Steals

#1 – Tom Brady, New England Patriots (Michigan)
2000: Sixth round, Pick 199

What Ryan Leaf is to the list of NFL Draft busts, Tom Brady is to the list of NFL Draft steals. Who knew the man who spent a lot of time at Michigan backing up Brian Griese and fighting Drew Henson for time would win three Super Bowls and become one of the top quarterbacks in NFL history? When former number one overall pick Drew Bledsoe went down with an injury, the young Brady got his shot, and Bledsoe never started again in New England. Among the QB’s drafted ahead of Brady: Giovanni Carmazzi (Hofstra, 65th to the 49ers), Chris Redman (Louisville, 75th to the Ravens), and Tee Martin (Tennessee, 163rd to the Steelers).
