Prep Ticket 2008 NBA Mock Draft
#1 – Chicago Bulls
Derrick Rose, G, Memphis

The Bulls have a tough choice to make, but it’s a good problem to have. There are two franchise-changing players at the top of this draft, but which one is right for Chicago? The question for the Bulls is this: do they want to start pushing Kirk Hinrich out the door and take Rose? Or do they add Beasley at forward, where he could play the 3 or the 4, where the Bulls already have Luol Deng and are developing Tyrus Thomas. Historically, it is safer to go with the guard over the big man, so we take Rose. At 6’3” and just under 200 pounds, Rose has an ideal body for an NBA point guard. Rose has a first step that is second to none, and he can score at will. Hinrich has been a solid guard, but Rose’s ceiling is much, much higher.

Bruins battle Wolverines in the Big Apple
The fourth-ranked UCLA Bruins are set to take on the Michigan Wolverines in semifinal action of the 2K Sports Classic Benefiting Coaches vs. Classic from Madison Square Garden this evening. The winner of this game will take on either Duke or Southern Illinois for the tournament title on Friday.
Ben Howland's Bruins were the host team for one of the Regionals in this event and as expected, advanced to New York City with wins over both Prairie View (82-58) and Miami-Ohio (64-59). UCLA has been a picture of consistency over the last few years, winning 30 or more games in each of the last three seasons and with a loaded lineup again, the team will try to make it four years in a row. ...
