#2 – Miami Heat

The Heat have the no-brainer pick in this year’s draft, much like Seattle last year with Kevin Durant. Don’t believe the hype about Miami maybe taking O.J. Mayo here. If they want Mayo, they’ll trade down. Beasley is a slam dunk to go number two to someone. He came out of high school as one of the most highly-touted players in the country, and he lived up to the hype with the Wildcats. As a freshman, he led the nation in rebounding (12.4 rpg) and was third in scoring (26.2 ppg). Miami was a disaster last season, but Beasley could provide an immediate boost as he could play the three or four in the NBA. If Shawn Marion leaves as a free agent, Beasley could step right in as Miami’s small forward. If not, a starting five containing Beasley, Marion, and a healthy Dwyane Wade could get Miami right back in the playoff picture.
