I've been to games at Michigan and OSU. Not impressed at all. Sticking 100,000 people in the seats doesn't matter when they behave like they're at a quilting bee. Every SEC venue is more lively except perhaps Vandy.

Once again, no contest.

As a longtime PSU season ticket holder I had the opportunity to go to a game at Tennessee this season - the loss to 25 pt underdog Wyoming. I love traveling to other stadiums to see what the atmosphere is like because I'm not just a Penn State fan but a college football fan in general -been to FSU, Ohio State, Pitt, Miami and a few other as well. Neyland Stadium was the most disappointing atmosphere I have ever seen. I was a homecoming game and at the end of the first quarter there were 20,000 empty seats. Not to mention there is no tailgating scene. Half the cars are parked in platform style parking garages tailgating in their own exhaust. Even your vaunted Vol Navy failed to show up. You guys are fair weather fans although I do have say it's petty cool hearing Rocky Top in there and when they play the clip from the Grateful Dead song Tennessee Jed!

The Beav during a night game is far and away the best college atmosphere. I lived in Florida and no one there is from Florida. This makes for weak fair weather fans. We sell out 108,000 seats in a season we go 3-9!

To the bitter Vol who posted earlier: We OWN YOU. Get over it. 3 times I have watched Penn State hand the Vols their azz on the football field, and even the Criminole fans were louder against us. You have a overrated band that only plays ONE song over and over again, and the second your team goes down by 2TDs your fans sit on their hands and quit. You have NO idea what a good stadium looks/sounds like, if you need a refresher go ask the Tigers who are currently walking all over you in YOUR match up. Home field advantage is Penn State only losing 2 home games in 4 years or Ohio State only losing 4 games in the last 7 years. Tennessee has a intimidating home atmosphere?!! LOL, 8 home loses in last 4 years, FOURTEEN home loses in last 7 years. Penn State had 4 of it's worst seasons EVER in over 120 years of football this decade, but we STILL have a better home record in the 2000s than Tennessee. Vols home field advantage is an oxymoron.
