Nothing compares with the Pit. 19,000 fans right on top of the court which is well below street level. Jimmy Valvano knew the magic of that place. Too bad the NCAA's do the Final Four in football stadiums now - not the same.

The Pit with All Honestly is one of the top 3 Basketball arenas in the country, they know there basketball.

Not even close: Pit is WAY better than Cameron
Been to both; both are older and less-frills, but the Duke crowd is filled with noxious kids who think being crude is being "cool". It it weren't for the dark blue blinders TV announcers wear you wouldn't even be asking the question. Those NM fans are just that, knowledgable fanatics! I was rooting for the visiting team there, but !@#$% the Pit is a great environment for a BB game, men or women. And no, I'm not a NM local or a UNM grad, just a NYC BB fan.

I've played in a lot of different arenas around the country, and The Pit is the best when it jammed with 19,000 people, SRO.
