why
So if IBA is so superior to AFH..why do State's teams suck?

Phog is #1
Hands down the greatest basketball arena in the world. Its a special place that has the perfect chemistry with the crowd is rockin !! If you have never been there and you get the chance don't miss it. You will never regret that special feeling you get in the PHOG !!!

Went to the KU/OSU game last year when OSU beat KANSAS. The problem with OSU fans and OU fans is that they do not know how to cheer at games. They only cheer on the defensive end of the ball game and then are quiet on the offensive end. At Kansas it is always loud, no matter what end the ball is on. Sure GIA is more compact and closer to the floor, but when both are at full capacity AFH is by far louder!

sorry mark
LOL @ MARK for saying AFH is louder than GIA. Don't act like you have been to GIA. AFH might get loud, but it does not compare to GIA in respect to noise. Nice try though bud.

As an OSU alum who lives in KC and has been to games in both arenas, I can honestly say that AFH is bigger, louder and better designed. GIA is small (which is frankly what allowed us to even rival the noise f AFH) and has really bad angles a far as seating goes. I wish we had something like AFH in Stillwater. Fact is, it's not even close. Sad but true. AFH hands down. But GIA is second in conference and top 10-15 in country.

Hurts me to say this
I'm a Jayhawk fan, but I've been in some games at OSU where the gym and fans literally won the game for the Cowboys.

We were national champs last year and OSU was a first-round NIT disappointment. There was not an OSU player who could have made our ten-deep and yet that magic of that place beat KU by itself.

GIA
I've been inside Allen. I can say, without a doubt, that if it weren't for the history of the teams that play in it, it would be one of the biggest dumps of a venue in the conference. It's nearly as bad as Lloyd Noble Center in Norman. A far as venue goes, GIA is clearly better quality, rivaled by very few in the nation.

The only reason it hasn't been getting recognition the last couple of years is because OSU has been down. But it's still managed some great games over that time. We even beat the Jayhawks in it last year, in one of our worst season in over a decade.

Once Ford gets this team rolling again, everyone will remember how intimidating GIA is, and this discussion will be moot.

Jayhawks have some fine history, but Allen is a dump. (students sit 15 feet from the court! OSU students practically sit ON the court!)

we buy better quality light bulbs, therefore haven't had any shatter. TBP needs to spend his money wisely.

I have been to both many times.
Gallagher Hall's grand opening in 1938 was a two-game match-up with Kansas. Mr. Iba and the Cowboys won both. It was the home of the first college basketball program to win two consecutive NCAA championships. It's also where the Cowboys beat KU and Wilt Chamberlain. It is also the gym where Roy Williams received the worst beating of his career. Gallagher-Iba is the home of more NCAA national champions than any other building in America. And noise? Has the noise ever reached a level that caused light bulbs to shatter? No? Well, that happened at Gallagher-Iba. I respect KU basketball greatly, but there is no better place for college basketball than Gallagher-Iba. CBS named it the best venue in college basketball five or six years ago.

This doesnt work
This is obviously not working. Whatever school you like is what people are going to vote for. All the people saying "hands down this, hands down that" its whatever school you like is gonna get the vote. Honestly this voting is for whoever can find more friends that actually care enough to go to this unknown website and vote.
