General News Penn State's Edwards out with MCL tear |
University Park, PA (Sports Network) - Penn State freshman forward Bill Edwards is expected to miss four-to-six weeks with a partial MCL tear in his right knee.
Edwards, who suffered the injury during Thursday's morning practice, was expected to see playing time in the early going for the Nittany Lions this season.
The 6-foot-6 Edwards is likely to return to the lineup by the middle of December. He averaged 17.4 points and nine rebounds per game as a high school senior, earning the 2009 Ohio Senior Player of the Year.
