General News Northwestern F Coble to miss season |
Evanston, IL (Sports Network) - Northwestern senior forward Kevin Coble will miss the remainder of the 2009-10 season after opting to have surgery on his injured left foot.
"After meetings with foot specialists, it has become obvious that surgery will be required to repair a mild Lisfranc fracture," said Coble.
The native of Scottsdale, Arizona led the Wildcats a season ago with 15.5 points and 4.8 rebounds per game en route to a second-team All-Big Ten selection. He has led the team all three years in scoring and rebounding and ranks 14th in school history with 1,203 points.
"We're obviously disappointed that Kevin won't be able to be on the court this season," said Northwestern head coach Bill Carmody.
