Oklahoma State legend Fenimore passes away

Stillwater, OK (Sports Network) - Former Oklahoma State two-way star Bob Fenimore died Wednesday morning at the age of 84.

Fenimore was the Cowboys' first All-American and was the number one pick in the 1947 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears.

He led the nation in total offense in 1944 while leading the-then Aggies to an 8-1 mark and a Cotton Bowl victory. He paced the nation in total offense again in 1945 while helping then-Oklahoma A&M to a perfect 9-0 mark, including a win in the Sugar Bowl.

He also recorded a school record 18 interceptions.

"Bob Fenimore will never be forgotten," Oklahoma St. head football coach Mike Gundy said. "He may have been the most dominant player in America during his years in Stillwater. He is still listed in our record books nearly 60 years after he played. He truly is a legend."

Fenimore was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1972.
