General News Salukis to visit Missouri in 2012 |
Carbondale, IL (Sports Network) - The Southern Illinois football program will play the University of Missouri for the first time when it visits Columbia during the 2012 season.
Southern Illinois signed a contract that has them scheduled to play Missouri on Sept. 8, 2012.
With previously announced games slated at Illinois in 2010 and at Ole Miss in 2011, the 2012 game against Missouri will mark the ninth straight season that Southern Illinois has played an FBS program. The Salukis are 2-4 in their past six games against FBS schools with wins at Indiana (35-28 in 2006) and at Northern Illinois (34-31 in 2007).
The Salukis were 11-2 last season. They will open the 2010 season at home against Division II Quincy on Sept. 2 before visiting Illinois.
