Former Sooner great Daryl Hunt dies at 53

Oklahoma City, OK (Sports Network) - Former Oklahoma linebacker Daryl Hunt has passed away at the age of 53.

The Oklahoman reports Hunt passed away of an apparent heart attack some time over the weekend.

The two-time All-American played under Barry Switzer and is still the all-time leader in tackles at the school with 530. Hunt went on to play six years in the NFL for the Houston Oilers.

Pac-10 announces future name change


Larry Scott confirmed that the Pac-10 will become the Pac-12 for the 2011-12 season.
The Pac-10 Conference will officially undergo a name change once two new schools join the grouping.

The announcement was made on Tuesday, as conference commissioner Larry Scott unveiled new branding for the Pac-10 beginning this upcoming season.

Scott confirmed that the Pac-10 will become the Pac-12 for the 2011-12 season, once both the University of Colorado and the University of Utah are welcomed to the fold. ... Continue
