Prep Ticket 5A Top 10 - Week 7

We're getting deeper into the regular season and some teams are starting to look like their playoff-caliber selves, playing solid all-around football. The Houston area is starting to gain steam, while North Texas teams continue to battle each other for state and regional supremacy. Don't believe it? Check out the shake up in this week's poll. 1.  Euless Trinity  (4)  (7-0)


The Trojans rolled up 465 yards of offense, including 208 yards passing and a pair of touchdowns from quarterback Denarius McGhee, and crushed Keller Central 49-7

2.  Abilene  (1)  (7-0)


After a week off, the Eagles' high-powered offense looks to get back in the swing of things and keep rolling foes; Abilene has won its past three games by a whopping 193-29 margin

3.  The Woodlands (1)  (6-0)


Running back Daniel Lasco ran wild on Oak Ridge, rushing for 147 yards and a touchdown on just 12 carries; the defense wasn't bad either, holding its sixth consecutive opponent under 20 points in The Woodlands' 41-7 win

4.  Galena Park North Shore  (5-0)


The Mustangs' D continues to impress, holding Channelview to 10 first downs and 165 total yards while scoring a defensive touchdown for the third consecutive game in North Shore's 38-0 victory

5.  Allen  (7-1)


The Eagles opened eyes all over the state with their impressive 56-23 thrashing of previous No.2 Plano; quarterback Matt Brown and running back Jeremiah Williams combined to rush for 249 yards and two touchdowns in the win

6.  Odessa Permian  (7-0)


The Panthers struggled against winless Lubbock before pulling out a 35-14 win with a second-half surge; quarterback Trevor Adams passed for 185 yards and two touchdowns to get the Permian offense going

7.  Copperas Cove  (7-0)


Another week, another blowout for the Bulldawgs as Copperas Cove jumped out to a 28-3 lead before cruising to a 52-26 win over Belton; running back Tommy Mclein led the Dawgs with 116 rushing yards and two touchdowns

8. Pearland  (6-0)


Running back Kasey Carrier ran for 285 yards, 100 coming on his first five carries, and four touchdowns to lead the Oilers past an overmatched Pasadena Memorial 63-28

9.  Beaumont West Brook  (4-0)


Christine Michael rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown and the Bruins defense forced four costly turnovers to help West Brook avoid an upset and pull out a 20-13 win over Baytown Lee

10. Plano  (7-1)


The Wildcats defense was exposed in a 56-23 pounding by previous No. 8 Allen, surrendering 527 yards and never holding the lead despite getting 175 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns from running back Rex Burkhead
