National Signing Day: Fisher Happy To Be A Red Raider
Now that his high school career is officially in the books, Aaron Fisher of Keller Fossil Ridge is looking forward to taking that next step. Those steps now lead to Lubbock, where he will play for Texas Tech.
The 6-foot-3, 175-pound wide receiver has verbally committed to Mike Leach's Red Raiders to play in one of the most explosive offenses in the country. Fisher should have no problem fitting into Leach's system.
Fisher says being comfortable with the spread offense that Texas Tech plays was a big factor in his decision. He says the fact that they only run the ball around 20 times a game means its a good place for a receiver.
Fisher is coming off a senior campaign that saw him get 936 yards receiving and 8 touchdowns for the season. Prior to that he had 1,031 yards receiving and 15 touchdowns his junior year. His speed, clocked at 4.4 in the 40, will be valuable in the Red Raiders high octane offense. Scouts love the fact that he is not afraid to go over the middle and does a great job of securing the ball in traffic.
Fisher committed to Texas Tech during his junior year. He was also looked at by Kansas, Missouri and Arizona.
