Lineup for Texas Gridiron Classic complete

With fan interest in high school football at an all time high, it was only a matter of time before promoters turned their eyes toward the state of Texas for an event as big as the lone star state itself. Teams from Georgia, Lousiana, California and Ohio will be matched up with some of Texas' best teams.
Matchups for the series, known as the 2008 Texas Gridiron Classic presented by the National Football Foundation, were confirmed Friday.
Chicago-based Intersport will be promoting the seven-game "Texas vs. the U.S.A." toournament, which has previous experience with an even larger series of games ? the 22-team Kirk Herbstreit Ohio vs. USA Challenge on the same weekend in Cincinnati.
Buford, Georgia and Mansfield Timberview will get the 1st annual Gridiron Classic started on Saturday August, 30th at 11 AM. The classic will conclude with Colleyville Heritage and Clovis East, California at 8 PM Monday night.

Saturday, Aug. 30
11 a.m.: Mansfield Timberview vs. Buford, Ga.
2 p.m.: Cedar Hill vs. Cincinnati LaSalle
5 p.m.: Justin Northwest vs. Ruston, La.
8 p.m.: Arlington Bowie vs. Trotwood-Madison (Ohio)
Monday, Sept. 1
11 a.m.: Euless Trinity vs. John Curtis Christian (River Ridge, La.)
2:30 p.m.: Klein Oak vs. Mandeville, La.
7 p.m.: Colleyville Heritage vs. Clovis East (Calif.)

The Blue Raiders have been mediocre at best offensively, racking up a pedestrian 343.1 total ypg, which has led to an average 22.4 ppg. The majority of the team's success has come from the pass, as MT is producing 241.6 ypg through the air, and out of the 29 touchdowns scored by this unit, 16 have come via the pass. Joe Craddock has done a commendable job under center for the Blue Raiders, completing 63.4 percent of his passes for 2,435 yards. The quarterback comes into this matchup with 13 touchdowns and only six interceptions. In the recent contest with North Texas, the Blue Raiders tallied 489 total yards, and it was good enough for MT to roll to a convincing victory. Craddock had a solid showing, throwing for 251 yards and one score on 19-of-31 passing. Phillip Tanner, who has been inconsistent throughout the season, was the main source of production, as the tailback rushed for 159 yards and five touchdowns. ... Continue
