NCAA upholds Bryant's suspension

Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - The NCAA has upheld the suspension of Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant, who will sit out the remainder of the season for allegedly lying to NCAA investigators.

Bryant was originally ruled ineligible by the school on October 7 for improper conduct stemming from a failure to fully disclose the details of interaction with former NFL player Deion Sanders.

On October 27, the NCAA suspended Bryant for the rest of this season and took away a season of eligibility as a condition for his reinstatement.

Bryant appealed the decision and the Division I Committee on Student-Athlete Reinstatement ruled against him on Thursday. As a junior, he is eligible to enter the NFL Draft next April.

Last season, Bryant was a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, which is presented to the nation's top wide receiver, after posting 87 catches, 1,480 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Bryant had 17 catches for 323 yards and four scores in just three games this season.
