Top Running Back Recruit Makes College Choice
Beaumont, TX - There may be other names that are more well know, but Christine Michael is one to remember.
A senior running back at Beaumont's West Brook High School, Michael is one of the top running backs in the country.
In no rush to make a decision about his college commitment, he waited until the season was over to make a choice. With schools such as Florida, LSU, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Miami, Arkansas, and Nebraska seeking his services, it's no surprise Michael took his time.
But after months of uncertainty, he's finally made his choice, with Texas A&M coming out on top.
Overcoming the damage and destruction wrought by Hurricane Ike, Michael excelled on the field despite trying circumstances off.
Averaging more than 8 yards a carry, he put up more than 1,400 yards on the season while making his way to the end zone 25 times. With good size (5'11", 202 lbs), and good speed (4.45 in the 40), he's a complete back that never lets up.
"I'm great in space", said Michael. "If you give me a little bit, I'm going to take a mile. I run real strong, I'm quick, I'm fast. I'll do whatever I have to do to see that endzone."
