Mossakowski taking his game to the Bluegrass State

The term dual-threat can be used when talking about quarterback Ryan Mossakowski of Frisco Centennial. Except when dual-threat is used here, it's not describing one sport but two.

Mossakowski could soon be taking his multi-talented skills to Kentucky after verbally committing to the Wildcats. And you might be able to not only see him star on the football field in Lexington but also on the baseball field.

He was a star on the gridiron for Frisco Centennial this past season, raking up 1,345 yards and 15 touchdowns before a shoulder injury knocked him out for the second half of the season. The two seasons prior to that the 6-foot-1, 200-pound Mossakowski had over 5,000 yards passing and 34 touchdowns.

The shoulder injury not only finished his football season but also the upcoming baseball season. Mossakowski's primary position in high school is shortstop, but may move to the outfield at the next level.

Mossakowski had successful shoulder surgery and should be ready to go once he gets to Kentucky. He says he is ready for the challenge of playing both sports there and the opportunity to do so is what drew him to Lexington.

What gridiron scouts like about Mossakowski other than his work ethic is his natural talent. He has great arm size and is a threat to strike anywhere on the field. He is also fundamentally sound and well coached, and can pick apart a defense once he gets into rhythm.

Those intangibles can also be translated onto the diamond. The natural talent that Mossakowski possesses allows him to make the transformation from the infield to the outfield, which is no easy feat. But with Mossakowski's work ethic, nobody is doubting the switch and his college career will be a successful one.
