National Signing Day: Nwachukwu Heading to Texas A&M

Allen wideout Uzoma Nwachukwu has all the tools to be a top-notch receiver. Speed, size, hands and quickness to name a few.  And now he will be taking all his tools to College Station after verbally committing to Texas A&M.

Nwachukwu chose the Aggies over Oklahoma, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas and Notre Dame. It wasn't too tough a choice for one of the top wideouts in the Lone Star State, as he committed prior to last season. The Aggies are excited to have him considering he has the talent to be a game-changing receiver.

The Aggies are possibly looking at using him out of the slot, which is something he was very good at while at Allen. Nwachukwu has a nice feel for finding spots in zone and isn't afraid to go over the middle and up in traffic to get the football. Plus many scouts love the fact he can block in both the run and pass game. Toughness and strength like that is exactly what Mike Sherman and his staff are looking for to rebuild Texas A&M back up to Big 12 powerhouse status.

The 6-foot, 186-pounder caught 40 passes for 331 yards and 4 touchdowns during his senior year at Allen. He also had 110 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground. Combine his junior and sophomore seasons and he totaled 952 yards receiving and 8 touchdowns.

Nwachukwu's ability and versatility is what many believe makes him a very good prospect. And Aggie fans are looking forward to seeing Nwachukwu running all over Kyle Field over the next few years.
