Tommy Mason-Griffin Taking His Game To Oklahoma

Tommy Mason-Griffin is a bulldog on the court. That's just the type of player that Oklahoma head coach Jeff Capel wants as a Sooner.

The 5-foot-10, 206-pound guard from Houston Madison will have the chance to display his bulldog mentality at Lloyd Noble after committing to play at Oklahoma.

The McDonald's All-American has the killer instinct to score at will. Many coaches feel Mason-Griffin has NBA range and makes it look easy because of his strength and elevation on his shot. He is someone who can light it up quickly and has no fear of slashing to the basket and finishing strong through contact. But it's not all offense for Mason-Griffin. He is also a strong, physical defender with quick feet and hands.

Mason-Griffin transferred Madison to Oak Hill (VA) Academy following his junior year. He left Oak Hill last September to return to Madison. He is ranked at the number three point guard and 24th overall player in the country by Scout.com, averaging over 23 points a game for Madison. Mason-Griffin figures to be a key figure in Madison's march to a state championship. They open against Humble Atascocita in the first round.

Mason-Griffin joins Keith "Tiny" Gallon as future Sooners playing at the McDonald's All-American game, scheduled for April 1st at the University of Miami in Florida. Both players will be part of the West squad.
