Spring Westfield's Jacoby Walker Getting Attention

Spring, TX - Although the 2009 signing period for college football is still a few months away, attention is already shifting towards the class of 2010.

In an era where prospects are being evaluated earlier than ever before, today's juniors are tomorrow's recruits.

It's something Jacoby Walker knows all too well.

One of the top dual threat quarterbacks in the state of Texas, Walker just finished his junior season at Spring Westfield.

But he's already getting lots of recruiting love.

Among the schools showing interest: Alabama, Houston, Kansas State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, and Texas Tech.

Standing 6'2", Walker possesses solid speed, but it's his arm that does most of the damage.

In his second year as starting quarterback, Walker improved in almost every statistical category.

Completing nearly 70% of his passes, he torched opposing defenses for more than 2,000 yards and 20 touchdowns.

And with one more year still to go, it won't be surprising to see Walker as one of next year's top prospects.
