Cincinnati upends No. 21 Maryland in Maui


Mick Cronin's Cincinnati Bearcats upset the 21st-ranked Maryland Terrapins.
Yancy Gates scored 17 points and pulled down 13 rebounds as Cincinnati beat 21st-ranked Maryland, 69-57, in the semifinals of the Maui Invitational.

Deonta Vaughn added 16 points and five assists for the Bearcats (4-0), who will play Wednesday against the winner of the game between Gonzaga and Wisconsin. Lance Stephenson totaled 11 points and eight boards in the win.

Greivis Vasquez had 19 points on just 5-of-17 shooting for the Terrapins (4-1), who struggled in the first half and never recovered. . ... Continue
